NGC 6934
A globular cluster in Delphinus, number 47 in the Caldwell catalogue, discovered by William Herschel in 1785.
Le Cœur et l'Âme · Photograph by the author · 3h 47m of exposure, DwarfLab DWARF 3
It is about 50,900 light-years away and is approaching us at 406 kilometres per second. It may come from the Helmi stream, one of those streams of stars that the Milky Way has taken from dwarf galaxies. In the photo, it is a compact ball just left of centre, against which a brighter star rests, at bottom right.
