Nebula · Aquarius
A planetary nebula in Aquarius, discovered by Karl Ludwig Harding in 1824.
Le Cœur et l'Âme · Photograph by the author · 3h 47m of exposure, DwarfLab DWARF 3
It is one of the closest to Earth, about 650 light-years away according to measurements by the Gaia satellite, and its outermost ring covers 25 arcminutes, barely less than the full Moon. In the photo, a broad red ring surrounds a blue disc in the middle of which a small bluish star shines, and the nebula takes up more than a third of the width of the frame.
