Seen from the solar system, which sits in its disc about 27,000 light-years from the centre, it looks like a whitish band, made of stars too many and too faint for the naked eye to separate. The six shots in this entry, in thirteen images, show that band strewn with stars, crossed by clouds of dust that stop the light of more distant stars, with golden or rosy glows here and there; seven versions remove the stars to keep only those clouds.

Every shot

The same object, several framings

Different framings of the same band, and not a stack: the durations add up on the counter, the signal does not add up from one image to the next.
