NGC 6756
A young open cluster in Aquila, found by William Herschel in 1791.
Le Cœur et l'Âme · Photograph by the author · 3h 47m of exposure, DwarfLab DWARF 3
Compact, it measures only 4 arcminutes; its distance, about 10,000 light-years, is the average of three measurements by the Gaia satellite. In the photo, it forms a small tight knot at the centre of a very dense field. Its neighbour in the sky, NGC 6755, at nearly half its distance, stays outside the frame.
