Galaxy · Triangulum
The third largest galaxy in the Local Group, after the Andromeda Galaxy and our own, about 3 million light-years away in Triangulum.
Le Cœur et l'Âme · Photograph by the author · 3h 47m of exposure, DwarfLab DWARF 3
Charles Messier catalogued it in 1764; at magnitude 5.7, it can be seen with the naked eye under a very dark, very clear sky. It spans 70.8 arcminutes by 41.7, more than the field of view of the eQuinox 2: its bluish, mottled disc fills almost the whole frame. To the left of the core, the small bright patch is NGC 604, its largest star forming region, nearly 1,500 light-years across.

Temps d'intégration : the total exposure time, the sum of every exposure stacked on an object.
The album date is the one the photo album gives the file, not the date of the shot: the device burns none into this image.
